Business As Usual

In an effort to continue to service the constituents of our shire the administration office will be open to the public via appointment commencing Wednesday 22nd April 2020.

There will be some restrictive measures in place within the office environment, however community members are encouraged to contact the Shire via phone or email, and use online services where possible during this period.  If visitation to the Shire is necessary we ask you to please remember all Commonwealth and State Government guidelines and restrictions which remain in place and observe all the rules around physical and social distancing.

Steps for social distancing in public includes:

  • minimising all unnecessary contact with others
  • keeping at least 1.5 metres (minimum) away from others
  • avoiding physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses
  • using tap and pay instead of cash
  • avoiding any gatherings, even at home, of more than a few people
  • avoiding public gatherings and congregating in groups

In order to protect our community and our staff we are making some changes to the way we do things:

A physical barrier restricting public from close contact with staff will be in place (a trestle table will be placed on the foyer side of the counter to retain required distancing).

One person in the foyer at a time.

No cash handling; please tap & go where possible or pay online.

Australia Post transactions will be retained as we have been doing since office closure (Phone the office in advance and collect parcels from the side window).

Department of Transport transactions to be done by appointment (Phone first to determine whether this can be done online, if not we will book a time for you to attend the office).

Enhanced hygiene and sanitising measures for all high touch areas.

Please read the signage displayed on front doors and window specifying COVID-19 Social Distancing Rules and health warnings - if you are feeling unwell do not enter the building.

And remember if you crossed regional borders or arrived into Western Australia by air, sea, rail or road in the last 14 days please do not enter the building.
